Dinner begins at 7pm
In addition to the May 19th Tournament, we will host a special evening with PGA golf pro, Woody Austin. Coming off the best season of his career, with a victory, a runner-up in the PGA Championship, a spot on The Presidents Cup team, a 17th-place finish in the FedExCup and his most earnings in one season...
Woody Austin has generously offered to spend the evening with us. First, he will conduct a mini-golf clinic and then visit with everyone at a reception following the clinic. Immediately following the reception a dinner will be served at which time Woody and his wife Shannon will enlighten us about his life on the professional circuit after his amazing year and entertain questions. The highest bidder in a one-time live auction will experience, along with two friends, a round of golf at the Wichita Country Club with Woody. An offering of fabulous live and silent auction items will be available for bid during the evening. Please join us for a fun, relaxing evening. Last year, there were 7,000 reports off child abuse and neglect in Sedgwick County. During the month of April, the Wichita Children's Home hosts a wide range of seminars, luncheons, and banquets in an effort to increase awareness of these issues in our community. The events play an important role in helping the community cope with this serious and ongoing problem, and business and individual support are vital in continuing this valuable program. Sponsorships help us to offset the costs of marketing materials and event expenses.

Thank you to the Wichita Auto Dealers Association for making our 5th annual Cars for Kids gala a stellar success. Guests enjoyed an evening of music, live and silent auctions and the chance to win a new car while enjoying Wichita’s largest new car showroom. With over 900 guests Cars for Kids raised $125,000 for the Wichita Children's Home. The generosity of WADA, sponsors, the many organizations and individuals who donated to the auctions and guests ensure that the Wichita Children's Home stands ready to provide shelter for more than 2,500 each year in need of a safe haven during their time of crisis.
While working with children in need is extremely rewarding, it can be emotionally and physically draining for the 125 staff members at the Wichita Children's Home. Each year, the Home hosts three events to reward and uplift it's staff for their hard work, dedication, and continuing care for our community's children.
Recognition Banquet:
This annual April event rewards long-term employees celebrating anniversaries and exemplary performance.
Staff Picnic
This event is traditionally held in June at Watson Park.
Christmas Party
This celebration is held at the Wichita Children's Home each December
The Home's staff appreciation budget is often at risk as other needs prove more pressing. However, we do feel it is vital to recognize the efforts of our staff and, as a result, continue to seek the support of the community in doing so. Sponsorship packages for these staff appreciation events help offset the cost of the event, and provide an opportunity for local businesses and individuals to contribute to the Home's success.
